Binkies and Dinkies and Crazytown
I think we have officially joined Crazytown. We took a Christmas trip to Reidsville GA with the 2 kids and the 2 dogs. We returned with 2 kids and 6 dogs. Back to that shortly…
So what happened?
We went to the Savannah area for Christmas. Dad’s neighbor had 7 puppies there (an 8th died at birth). The lady who owns the property only comes out a few days a week, and the dog-mom Bella and the pups stay in a pen. The area shelters are kill shelters and are full anyway.
We stayed for a week.
Christmas dinner was a little different. There’s a fantastic Savannah restaurant downtown called 17hundred90 that has a delicious Christmas buffet.
We visited with family and even went to River Street in Savannah.
After all the excitement it was time to return home. And somehow, the kids decided that bringing 4 puppies back to the house was a good idea. We can find homes for some of them, and maybe keep 1 or 2.
Driving home with a Box O’ Puppies
As we head back, our dogs are getting to know the pups. Our daughter is giving them bottles with water (Binkies), and they try to chew anything, including the male puppies’ “dinkies.”
We wish we could have rescued them all.
But we do truly love our children’s sense of altruism. A child’s heart is a beautiful thing!
To be continued…
