Protector, “Therapizer”, Playmate, Altruism, and Most Importantly, Love at First Sight
When I first saw her as I scrolled through the endless pictures of homeless dogs and cats on the Philly PAWS website, I just knew in my heart of hearts right then and there, she was going to be the one. She had to be, she just had to be. I truly felt like a little kid at Christmas wanting to open their presents before everyone was awake. We just had to go see her. Cute as could be, black and white, curly fur and adorably calling us to come give her a family.
She always shows love & affection without asking for anything in return, well except to snuggle on our bed, instead of in her crate, but can you blame her? She’s a protector; she will let us know when every little thing, whether a leaf, cat, person or truck is going by our house. Her ability to “therapize” you with her snuggles and kisses at a moment’s notice when you need it most are only a few of her most loveable qualities. Pretty’s a great playmate, both for her partner in crime, Leo, the Yorkie, or our children as she chases and brings them a sock or the latest chew toy. She’s a great motivator to help you watch your diet too! She will find a way to sit right by your feet or on you if she can, no matter what type of food or drink you “may” have for the plain chance that she just might be able to score some extra food, therefore less for you of course.
Pretty definitely has an exuberant amount of energy that keeps me moving on our daily walks and she often has me wonder who is walking who! At the same time, she reminds me regularly, (just like the children did when they were little), to slow down after a while, and appreciate the small things in life too! Always happy to see us, and as altruistic as they come. Pretty is “loveable” in every possible way and always there when you need her. Pretty has really taught us, and all those around us, a thing or two about true friendship and unconditional love. This is the Life of Pretty.
